Get it done on HD's nickel before they "forget" and make you pay for it.

I've got the 8's still. Runs like a champ. (Now I've said that I bet it will start playing up!)

the bike was a little cold and guess what, it stalls out and stombles all over itself right

Mine runs fine with the 8s after about a year and a half.

Matter of fact it runs like a cat with its tail on fire.

Never take off cold.

Stanger, just ot of curiousity, how often do you ride with the engine cold.

Still have the 8 degree injectors and have no problems. My dynoruns look right on and I don't have any of the start problems, etc. that prompted some people to switch.

Why change something that is not a problem and the bike is running perfectly?

WhenI got my bike in August it ran perfectly fine andI suscribe to the axiom "if it ain't broke don't fix it". But as soon as the temperature dropped the stumble raised its ugly head. I did let the engine warm up for 2-3 minutes before leaving and it didn't "cough or stumble" ifI was going straight. It would do it when in a turn. Trust me, a stumble in a slow speed turn when just starting out does get your attention. I sure having it happen when riding in traffic would really make you worry about the possible consequences.
I did not ask the dealer to change them, I just explained my problems when I brought the bike in for the 1000 mile service and they said it was the injectors and changed them out. I do like my dealer and they do treat me well, but I just can't deal with the prices they charge for parts and labor. I had the 1000 done by them to protect my warranty and I'll do the rest myself. I did put on the assessories that I bought with the bike.
I wonder if the injector issue might also be weather related? Are there more people in colder climes having the problem then people in the warmer (yes I'm jealous) climes?
If my bike ran fine with the 8's I would have left them in.

no real prob. with the 8s, but i printed it out and took it down to the dealer (hd allen tx) they switched them out no questions. my thought why not get the cvo 25 deg. inj. on there dime. it dose run beter. my brother has a 06 dyna he had the 8s and i would roll away from him when we hit 5th gear. he went down and got the 25s and they ran side by side all the way up to 115mph thats proof imo.

Mud,
I guess I should define "cold". I always start her up and wait for about 5min before going anywhere, so to me that is a bit cold.
I hope that everyone with the 8s never has a problem.

I have a theory on this one: I suspect that the 25 degree isn't rated for the identical flow rate. Perhaps a tad more, not sure, just guessing. If they did nothing to the programming, then that small difference could affect the air fuel ratio enough to improve performance. I don't KNOW that this is the case, just suggesting that sometimes the results are indirectly related to the change. These things are tuned for a clean burn, not for acceleration. So a tad more fuel in there would definitely make a difference.

My bike still has the 8's. I get some sneezing when it's warming up and have stalled on a number of occassions before getting out of my neighborhood. My warmup table was definitely out of whack and that made it worse. Powercobra98 gave me a copy of his map so I could reset the warmup table to some reasonable values (you can tinker so much you forget where you started).

Honestly, I'd love to have the 25's, but am afraid of getting hassled due to the significant changes I've made to my bike. The cold running problemis more than irritating sometimes. In my case, when I stop for gas and the engine partially cools, that's actually when it is at its worst. I'm going to try these changes to my SERT map and then I'll feel pretty good that the problem isn't my fault and I'll see if I can convince them to do the swap. I have a close friend that knows all the service guys, VERY well, so I'll probably have to take advantage of that.

Funny thing is,for the 1st month or so of riding, the Bob did cough a bit and was cranky when cold, then,as i f by magic, it straightened up after a few hundred miles and has run like a champ since....no problems at all.I bought the bike with the Stage1, SE2's. and factory download....asked the stealer about the 25's once and he pretty much didn't want to talk about it....sounds like a lot of 'em are like this when it comes to reinstalling the new injectors....yet they insist on doing the battery bolt recall themselves...go figure.
