The great part about fuelpak is you can get them for $100 all the time on ebay or on here. I ran one for a couple of years, it was great. On a mostly stock or stage 1, I think it is a great little unit.
I would not buy one new, dollar for dollar there are better options. However, used prices it is the way to go. Many people want to tinker with everything, so they find a reason to sale thier fuelpak and get something they can tinker with.
I have an 06 model, so when I did my bigbore and cams, I went with a ThunderMax tuner. It is awesome, but they are about $800. A stock motor is not worth an $800 tuner or a dyno tune.
Couldn't agree more, except a good tuner + good dyno tune more like $1200.
from what I"ve been reading everyone who uses the fuelpak with minor mods seams to be happy with it,looks like when you get past minor air and exhaust changes and start playing with the settings is when the trouble starts going to give it a try and see what happens.

Not I. Just a stage 1 and the bike ran ok, but not good, great, or perfect.
Trying to eliminate a seperate issue (turned out to be the fuel pump) I dumped the FuelPak for a PCV (almost the same cost as a new FP) and now the bike runs great. Can't say perfect as it's never seen a dyno, but waaaaay better than the FP ever had it running.

I have to disagree with both of ya. Mine is stock and I have no intentions of running it at the drags or try to set any speed records, but the SEPST with a dyno took mine from 65 hp to 81.12 hp and 95.44 tq. More than enough for me.

Those are nice numbers for a stage 1. Heard lot of folks like the SEPST, how much did it cost with tuner & dyno?
This is the set up I had for 07 Street Bob. HD Stage 1, Rush Slip Ons with 1.75" baffles and a fuel pak. I did not like the way it ran with the fuel pak particularly on decel popping and what not. Relaced it with a Power Commander retro fit and now my bike runs very good...Not trying to say this is the best set up for everyone as each is different but this one worked for me...

Thats the painful part, but it cost about one thousand dollars for the SEPST and four hours on the dyno. I know thats a lot of money, but it is finished and it runs really strong and no more screwing around with different numbers and maps.

Ouch. Yeah, if you have the green, sounds like the way to go. Frayed 'shoestring' myself, so master of the low-budget solution. Maybe one day I can afford something like that.
I think if you read what I said about dollar for dollar, the fuel pak is a good solution. Also, I said that there are better option, I use a ThunderMax tuner, which for an 06 model is the best solution, in my opinion. I do not understand what you disagree about.
