Fuel additive
Hey gents,
So I added some seafoam to my fuel (about 4 ounces for 4 gallons of fuel) so that I could see if that would clean out a sputter to my throttle response. About how long would it take for it to clean out the injectors if they are gummed up or the same for the fuel filter or any part of the intake? Any help would be great.

Could take as little as one treatment or as many as 3 tanks worth. Really depends on how bad your system is. What year and model do you have? Sputter and throttle response problems could be the result of a multitude of issues.
I have found Stabil to be good at keeping the fuel reletively "fresh" during storage. I usually ignored my friends miracle claims about Seafoam. This summer my exspenive overhead cam Honda lawnmower just shutdown halfway through mowing the lawn. It had no compression, but before buying another mower, I took the valve cover off and found the intake valve was no fully closing due to a gummy residue accumulating on the valve stem. After getting it restarted, I put an exsessive amount of Seafoam in it and after 1 tank, it is as good as new. I also put it in my 20 year old weedeater that has been going downhill for years, after running it for 15 minutes and letting it sit for a week, it is also as good as new.
I am sold on Seafoam!

Stabil is a great product. Keep in mind that it does have a shelf life. If you add old stabil to the fuel it will settle to the bottom of the tank and plug everything up. Seafoam will not clean your filter. Replace it.
