Ask a motor cop. I'll bet he'll say waterproof Churchills. They're deerskin with thinsulate, long gauntlets, it's what many of them wear here in the rainy northwest.

I've been buying and testing lined gloves for cold weather and my biggest issue is the loss of dexterity. It's not as easy to use the controls with thicker gloves.

last few years i have used hippo hands.. gloveless all the way down in to the 20s and then a thin pair of riding gloves below that
best part is you feel the controls.

many people laugh at them until they see my nice warm gloveless hand come out
after a winters ride at 30°

I have several different sets of gloves for all temperature ranges. Once it starts to get really cold I go with my Gerbings. I have the battery operated set so I don't have to be tied into the bike. They last anywhere for 2 to 6 hours per charge, depending on the temperature setting you use. They are a little over $200.00, but well worth it if you do a substantial amount of cold weather riding.

I have a pair of deer skin thinsulate lined guantlet gloves that work for me, they were about $30.
