I just don't store mine. Any day that is above 40 degrees, I start it up and go for a ride. Sometimes I will ride in lower temps than that if it is a sunny and dry day.
I don't store mine either, but it does sit more in the winter than during nice weather.
I change my oil whenever it's time on mileage, whenever that may be. Looks like I'll be due for service sometime next month, so it will work out this time that I will have fresh oil before cold weather gets here.
The key is....during cold weather condensation can build up in the crankcase. If you ride it during cold weather, ride it long enough to heat the oil completely up to operating temp and keep it there for a while to burn out any moisture that may have accumulated in the oil. Doesn't matter if it's older oil or new. When it's cold or has been sitting for a while, I don't fire it up unless it's going to be ridden for at least 30-45 minutes.
Don't just fire it up in the garage to hear it run..
