Riding up to DC on i95. Going 55-60. Somebody slammed on their brakes. I tried to stop but the next thing I know is that I was going down. Made it out with a broken wrist and road rash. My hands are pretty bad, I wish I'd been wearing gloves. The bike doesn't look too good. I just picked it up today and I havent really taken a good look at it. Considering calling up the insurance and seeing what their take is.
Any suggestions?
Glad you're still up above. I'd recomend calling insurence, it's better to have them check out the bike before you realize the extent of the damage and find yourself unable to repair it
I had an incident that totaled my bike last year. I too was lucky to get only minor injuries as well. I can tell you that calling the insurance company sooner than later made me feel better. The sooner you can get everything back to pre-accident condition is a good thing. Good luck and I hope all things work out the best for you.
Glad to hear you are relatively OK. Gloves are the only item of protection I never dispute. I have had two low speed accidents and both times my hands hit the pavement. No other piece of protection hit anything.
Same thing happened to me about a month ago. Lots of road rash which is almost all healed by now. T-shirt, jeans, no gloves and steel toe boots. Scraped up both forearms, hands, right knee and right shoulder. Nothing broken, except pride.
Ground off some leather, down to the steel, in one boot. Minor scrapes on helmet visor.
Street Bob is in the shop. I was able to ride home on the SB so it wasn't too badly damaged.
