Default Trouble code help

Hello all. I have an 01 FXDXT, starting last night the check engine light was coming on but went off during my ride home from work. This morning it stayed on for my whole ride to work and same thing for my ride home. I was able to jump the data connector and retrieve code 54. Unfortunately I do not have the electrical manual only the service manual and this does nothing for me in this scenario. The bike seems to be running fine but I just want to get this code figured out and fixed. I thought of disconnecting the battery and seeing if this will reset it for now and see if it comes back. Anyone have any experience with this code?? I am an auto tech so I would like to believe that I can diagnose this myself with just a multimeter and some time but just need the proper documentation to help me along and of course the knowledge/experience of my fellow forum members. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Here is a list of codes from fuelmoto. Is it 54 rear coil shorted or intermittent i.e. rear cylinder firing intermittent?

Thanks for the link, I had already seen that, that was how I figured out how to short the connector and count the flashes. I guess what I am looking for is to see if anyone has the flow chart for the code available.

No that # 54 is just the 54th code listed on his site, the code that follows is a P code, I do not have a P code. Thanks though

Yep, realized that after I posted it yours is a 2001. The link DMP posted has a PDF in it that lists code 54 as an eprom error.
