Default Toolkit Recommendations

Hi
I pick up my Vivid Black07 Street Bob in 4 weeks time and i would like to ask what arethe essential tools to carry?

In the past 30 years I havehad Jap bikes or BMW's and always used the standard kit with a few additions, this is my first Harley and I know some of you will say that I won't need tools, and that may be the case, but I always like to carry some even though I might only use them on someone elsesmachine, as has pretty much been the case with my other bikes kits.

I guess I just love tools and could not imagine going anywhere without a decent kit.

Great forum, very friendly and no attitute!, thanks for the good advice and ideas I've gotalready, can't wait toput them to good use!

Hey Roadkillvespa,

Windzone has a great kit that has everything the Harley rider would need. It is the EK-1HD kit.

I have an 06 Vivid Black Bob. You are going to love it.

Thanks Dombow77 that windzone kit looks impressive, andwith the exchange at nearly$2 to ÂŁ1 at the momentits very well priced.

Its not always easy to get stuff send over from the States to the UKthoughand we get hit for importation duty when it arrives, but I will try to get a friend to pick one up for me when she is over on business, already got mypassenger peg kit, seat and battery cover that way,all sitting in a box under my bed waiting for the bike to arrive!

Cheers!

The first two I can do, but unfortunately the third is not an option for me!

I did spend a fun afternoon with a Glock 9mm at Bucks Gun Shack in Daytona a few years ago but thats as close as I'll ever be able to get to owning one.!

I usually throw a chain around the handle of my rollaway box and throw it around my luggage rack and then I've got any tool I might need.....lmao

I made a list of tools that were specific to my bike and then went to the pawn shop and got brand name tools for about .30 on the 1.00. You can get the HD 8 in 1 screwdriver and have all the screwdrivers and torx that you are likely to need. I also carry an oil filter wrench and funnel as I do oil changes on the road if needed.

I made a roll up bag out of some scrap leather I had and have a good tool kit for around 50.00.

I also have a Kahr .40 S&W auto that is a tool that I never leave home without.

Regards,

Bill

HD makes a Snap On kit for 199.00 and a scaled down FLT version for 89.00. You could probablytake a close look at both kits then assemble your ownfor alot less money.
