Default diamond cut headlamp

I bought one of those Adjure diamond cut headlamp for my 2000 FXDX, but it doesn't fit. Its too deep and sticks out about 3/16" too far. Its a motorcycle lamp.

Anybody used one of these on their Dyna?

Is the 2000-2005 Dyna buckets smaller?

Should I get the Harley version and will it fit a 2000 Dyna?

Man I am PO'ed

OK the HD version fits, but of course is 2x more.
What have other people used to improve their headlamp on older Dyna (other than LED/HID)

Ok, Just went through this a couple months ago. Here is what I did....

Ordered a Hella E-Code 5 3/4" round H4 lens (my bike had a sealed beam bulb). Bought H4 bulb.

So, the stock bulb had a "tab" built into the back of the glass that fit into a small slot in the headlight bucket. This Hella unit I purchased had 3 separate tabs welded to the back of the H4 housing. Two of the three tabs was longer than the other two. After looking and measuring a few things, I came up with the idea to cut two slots in the bucket ring so that the two longer tabs fit. Hope that made sense. Works great and much brighter than stock!

I'm guessing not. But I bought it at Rallylights.com if you wanna check it out. Read a lot of other guys on here using that and the 7" versions from there too.

I have the newer style on my bike. A lot better than the stock one. I think I want to go HID though.

Curious....

Are you trying to avoid this Harley Davidson Pt#68297-05 and 67883-04?

Werent both these parts standard issue on Sportsters?
