Default Wheel spacer material

Ok so I'm putting new wheels on bike with a narrower hub so I need to get custom length spacers made.
My question is are the outside wheel spacers the same material as the inside axle sleeve spacer? I'm trying to figure out if I can buy a couple lengths of the axle sleeve and have it cut to the size I want.

No, the axle sleeve is steel like natural gas pipe and the outer spacers are not the same material or thickness. My fronts are aluminum and double the thickness. I went from laced wheels to mags and had to find smaller spacers.

And that's why you are a bad mo fo with mad skills. I wish I had half your talent. But the OP should be able to get some made from a machine shop.

Thanks. Ya my plan is to get them made at a machine shop the problem is I won't have the stock ones to give them a reference for what size/type pipe they should be because I don't want to take my bike apart till I have what I need to put it back together.

you can put your wheel on there, put the rotor in the caliper and hold the brake, run the axle though, this will let you take your measurements

That's a good idea but I'm not sure if it will work in this case. Because the wheel hub is narrower I've heard I will have to space the caliper toward the rotor with some washers. So I won't know the correct position the caliper should be in until I get the wheel correctly spaced.
