Default Floating rotors on cast wheels. Question.

I bought some OEM cast wheels for my FXDC that came off a Lowrider. Do I have to run the MoCo floating rotor or can I just use the one that came on my spoke wheels? Or...is there a better aftermarket rotor I could/should use? Thanks.

Thanks. Is there a "better" rotor available in the aftermarket? I plan to upgrade the pads probably to Lyndall gold.

I've always wondered....why do you have to have a floating rotor on a cast wheel, but not on a spoke wheel? I don't understand why it's needed sometimes, but not others.
Can someone with knowledge of brakes please clear this up? I'm pretty mechanical, but brakes are my area of least knowledge & I don't understand this.

This all depends on the year of your bike. From my info it looks like 06 was the first year of 11.8" rotors on the front. If you avhe the cast wheels they also have a larger diameter where they bolt on. The spoke rotors have the same bolt pattern diameter but also utilize 11.8" rotors in the front all the way up to current. The rear is still an 11.5" rotor.
