Changing from Cast to Laced Wheels, Rotor Question
My question concerns the front brake rotor when changing from cast to laced wheels.
I'm a little confused, when I first looked at it, I thought I'd need a new rotor, then did a search in here, and someone mentioned a spacer, figured I'd ask here instead of the Stealership.
What gives, new rotor, spacer? WillI run into the same when start the rear, (rear looks like it is the same fit as the original)
While I'm asking, best place to get rotors? Quality and price?
RE: Changing from Cast to Laced Wheels, Rotor Question
Well, it sounds like I am the only rider who swapped out cast wheels for laced and had everything just bolt up. Rotor fit perfectly, axle fit, spacer fit. Maybe that's because it is an older model (2003 FXDL)
I had a 19 inch cast front wheel and built a 21 inch laced wheel. It was the easiest thing I ever done......pg
RE: Changing from Cast to Laced Wheels, Rotor Question
Is your front end and his the same width? Or to put it another way, if your axles are the same length it should be an easy swap out. 2005 and 2007 axles should both be 1 inch diameter axles, so check yours as well........pg
RE: Changing from Cast to Laced Wheels, Rotor Question
Soon as my new wheel gets here, I'll have a stock rotor from my 07 Bob your more than welcome to if you need it. No sense in paying the stealership big $$ for something. Mine has less than 3k miles on it. Let me know if your interested.
