Default 8"-12" raisers advise

I'm thinking of 8"-12"raisers. I'm 5'10"
Bike's a 99 fxdx

I love the look of the handlebars, just want them higher, currently 4"

I prefer https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...l#post10145595 look, and my bars naturally have this. Just hoping to get some raisers and save me some $$

should I get 10" raisers, or are welded bars superior?

I'm 5'7"-5'8". This is drags with 8.5" risers. I'd recomend at LEAST 12" for you. I'm looking at other options right now for more hight. You can go cheap with 8" straight risers and sportster stock bars usually around another 3-3.5".

that helps a lot. So since I have stock fxdx bars, it'll already add about 3" eh. So maybe 8"+ risers with stock bars will be about 1'

I had 4" risers with 2" pull back ,10" mini apes, but the riser clamp was hitting the console so I put on 4" straights and angled the bars back a little.

Yeah brah! I'm 6' and I'm running 12" T's on my DX. Wouldn't go any shorter.

Before that I was running 8.5 risers with drags. I like the T-bars better. Feels more solid, less parts. You get more options running risers plus bars, but the solid unit feels better to me...

5'9 and 12" are on their way so don't go any lower than that. What you can do is take a broom stick and make yourself some homemade bar riser to see how you feel at those height that's'what I did for my 12"

9" raisers with stock fxdx bars. No pullback, I like the stretch.

mx-tbars are nice, but really expensive.

Having welded bars would give a more "secure" feeling? Any other dis/advantages?

I'm running 9.5" straight risers from Wild 1 Inc. with a Night Rod Special handle bar that has 3.5" of rise. Before this set-up, I ran 9.5" pull-back risers with a drag bar and it just didn't feel right. I like the straight risers with my bars tilted forward slightly so my back stays straight. My preference is tall risers with an MX-style bar on top rather than welded t-bars so I have a bit of room for adjustment.
