I got my htgh flow ac from HD and my filter dose not look like that one. The one that came with my kit has some tsper to it. You should have gotten some pluge for the mount holes that have a tube going under the filter to vent the engine. I looks a lot better with the plugs. Looks like they just had some parts they put together to make a kit.
Yeah I'm noticing most people have a bolt/cover (and most kits have it too) for my pic#5. Are those hoses supposed to be run behind the center of the filter, instead of at the sides like that?
They should go in a grove under the filter ending above the throttle body. Do you know anyone close to you that has the high flow ac you could look at? If not I could take some photos tomorrow afternoon and post them. Sorry about the spelling. My right wrist is shattered and I cant use it. I would have to right handed.
The stage 1 ac itself, is usually about $135 retail. so after tax and labor, $200 sounds about right. The reason the backplate looks so dirty, is because it's a raw, unsurfaced casting. Basically a magnet for grime when installed with dirty hands. Harley offers a chrome version for around $70.
I just recently put mine on myself. Paid $125 for the kit. The back plate is a rough casting but it shouldn't be scuffed or chipped. Dangling connector is sloppy work. Your breathers look different than mine. Mine fill the entire hole on the plate. If it were me I'd question it.
Yeah. No download actually... I mean they installed the backplate, but still..
No download would be assumed at that price. If you want the download they will also try and talk you into dyno time. I went with Xieds and it runs great.
For $200 you should have got a good kiss before the screwing! It really looks like some thing just thrown together on your bike. I have a feeling you are going to oil being vented out the heads because the forward head has no hose attached to the breather port. IMHO just a bad job. I've installed two kits on seperate bikes and they look nothing like that.
Thanks everyone, I really learned a lot reading your responses. I'd read the engine vents back into the cleaners before, but until today never knew where that actually occurs.
Arkstreetbob your pics really helped me too.
I can see now I paid full price for what amounts to a budget job. Not satisfactory.
Looks like the mechanic and I are having a little conversation...
The wire is for emission controls. It was clipped behind my stock setup. When I put the Big sucker kit on, I attached it to the back out of the way. Out of sight, out of mind.
If you just added the air, no need for a map. Technically you can add air, run the bike for a bit, then add exhaust with out a map or tuner. The bike will run hotter, but the ECM will adjust. Do I recommend this? NO! A tuner or map will make the bike run a lot better and cooler. Also give you the power you deserve.

Reason: addition
Hey arkstreetbob,
Is that a gasket or some sealer hanging out in the airway entrance? If it is. I'd say it blocks air from entering.
Fusion7777, I got my air chrome cleaner assembly from Fuelmoto, you might want to check with them for a pricing comparison. To me yours looks like a used unit.
