On my way back from a friends tonight I noticed my headlight does not shine very bright. It's very yellow and a bit dull. Is there a better bulb than the stock bulb? Any recommendations for better light? Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the same?
Replacing the bulb was not enough to make my headlight bearable, but LED's were out of my price range. I replaced the lens and reflector with parts from Candlepower.
The newer halogen harley headlight assemblies are pretty bright. Depending on what year bike you have, the older style bulb and lens assemblies dont have a prayers chance against the new oem halogen systems. Of course there are aftermarket LED and HID, but Id prefer, and this is just me, to put a system on my bike that I know I can go to ANY harley shop to get parts.
Depending on what year Dyna you have, this may be just what you have been looking for:
I had the same issue and scrapped the whole stock set up.. went for this instead..
new mount from twisted choppers.. and an Arlen ness light.. there are cheaper aftermarket versions of Headlights though that will also do a great job..
Others on here have went with just an H4 bulb and increased their visibility.. but as Im sure your aware.. distance = life.. esp. at night on a motorcycle..
