Default Lowering with Thunderheader

I want to put 11" Progressive 412's on my Street Bob as I like the lowered look, but will I be scraping my Thunderheader? Please share your experience.

I have stock shocks for now, and I scrape the hell out of thunderheaders....

I have a 2000 Dyna with 11.5" shocks and a thunderheader, I have dragged the bottom side of them into rusty scrapes....

I have been meaning to put taller shocks in the rear because I like to lean the bike.. I suppose it wouldn't be a problem for normal city riding.

I have a Softail Deluxe with Thunderheader. I think they are the same frame? Mine has been lowered all the way with 11" Progressives (I am short). You will scrape on your leans, not much if you gage it right. My floorboards scrape too. Speed bumps are my enemy but I am used to riding around situations. Also think about your kickstand being changed out. Having the Thunderhead was a good choice even saying the above. They are set in about a good inch more and my legs don't sit on my pipes anymore... not as much heat on my legs.

Used to ride knee down on my sportsbike, but I don't want that anymore. Gone down once, sold it and bought a Harley to go cruising and take it easy.

So no more full throttle twisties.

Well, if you don't lean, you wont scrape.

Hitting that big pipe in a turn rather than your flexible floor boards will lift your rear tire off the ground. Nasty.

Yes it will scrape and I can even tell you exactly where it will hit, see 11" Progressives/Thunderheader on the bike in my sig pic. It will touch down right where the bottom pipe passes under the mid peg.Or just past the exhaust tape in the picture. It's not too terribly difficult to make a skid plate out of some old heat shield or pipe and clamp it there with hose clamps to keep from grinding through.Or get 13" shocks and forget about it.
