when you start noticing the front end "dive" under cornering and braking. you will want to upgrade the springs in the front end. also install gold valves from racetech or the riccor valves.
it will completely change the handling characteristics of your motorcycle. it will change how it handles bumps,braking, what it does under constant loads( corners) , and the rebound. the first dyna i did this upgrade to was a real eye opener. it's fantastic.
you said it yourself that the factory would have made it okay for normal riding. and it is okay for a gentle cruze and some corners but when we ride them like sport bikes, we need better setups. maybe not your cup of tea and only you and your style of riding will determine that.

Unless you're planning track days on that bike (e.g. maximum lean turns at 80+ mph), it'll bury the pegs into the pavement as is without any ill behavior. Thus, in my opinion, suspension upgrades for purpose of enhancing performance is a waste of money.
