Default Made a mess

Well the winter mods started yesterday and I made a mess of pulling the tank off of my '12FXDC.The garage is probably gonna smell like gas for a month.I had a hard time deciding where to start pull the front end apart or do the engine.I guess I decided on the engine pretty sure I'm doing the FM 107,I hope it goes better than pulling the tank did.Atleast doing this at this time of the year I won't get in a rush putting it together like I normally do.I'd like to do the ported heads but think I'm going to pass at the moment funds only allow for a certain number of things hopefully I'll be happy without doing them.I plan on putting a tank lift on during reassembly ,maybe changing out the short shots if I can unload them.I already ordered a PV and A/C.Hopefully all goes well and I'm impressed because i'm usually not.

Next time use a vice grip on each side of the fuel line to clamp it and then cut it in the center. No spillage. Buy a new piece of fuel line and you are good to go.

Good idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that when I pulled my tank.

I actually did you the vise grips but it wasn't completely pinched off then the line came out of the gas can.Oh well guess it didn't really hurt anything.I'm having a hard time deciding whether to go all the way and do the 107 or just do the cams though.I was thinking cams and 30t pulley would leave money in the budget for a few other mods I want to do.Decsions, decisions.

+1 i use 2 small vice grips, pinch it, then snip the line. replace it with some fuel hose whtn you re install it. much easier and less mess
