Just installed my new DK Custom Low Profile 587 A/C. My thanks to Kevin at DK Customs for his help with questions and an issue I had. They provided excellent customer service and support. This is the Bobber Style:
As you can see from the side shot it tucks in nicely and gives you a little more leg room so that us FXDC riders can have better access to the small brake pedal. The brake pedal issue is worse if you have forwards like I do. It also shows more of the engine and the chrome on the engine better.
Here is a shot of the stock A/C. You can see how much farther it sticks out and how much of the engine it blocks.

Actually I had the HD SE A/C and no it is a whole new replacement system where the HD SE used the OEM backing plate and air vent bolts the D/K system has it's own mounting plate, vent bolts and K&N filter allowing for the lower profile.

Thanks. I am just considering the DK ac Cover however and not the complete set up. I was wondering if the DK cover would be deep enough to work with the SE round air cleaner. Looks like it might.
This is a link to the cover I am considering. I am fairly certain it is the cover from your set up.
I guess I should clarify. I bought the complete kit. I do see where they sell just the covers for certain models. I did not like the "football" shape of my cover nor did I care for the part of the unfinished aluminum backing plate mounting that the crankcase vent bolts go through into the head that you could see. The complete kit replaces that backing plate with a black powder coated mounting plate that you don't see on my kit and uses polished aluminum vent bolts instead.
Thanks again for the info. I totally agree with you about the football and the unfinished backplate etc... That's why I went with the HD SE round ac and new chrome backing plate as well. I am running my AC without a cover currently. I really like the DK cover that is on your set up. I have been considering getting a round cover for awhile. I might just get this one for a Christmas gift to myself.
Thanks again for posting the info on the DK setup/cover.
It looks great on your ride!
