My 05 was carburetted. Cam chain tensioners would have went out by 40,000, changed to gear drive. A lot of the 05 bikes for what ever reason had compensator nuts that came loose but this would have been in the first few thousand miles. Mine did. The aluminum shifter lever shaft on the tranny got loose on the splines and had to be replaced. This is common problem. Got 61,000 on mine with no other problems.
The factory had a run of the wrong valve guide seals install at the factory. Have your bike checked by VIN by a dealer. To correct the problem the heads have to come off. Check cam chain tensioners.
