Default Cost for cams and tuner installed?
I am looking to beef up the switchback. The dealer said since I added the air cleaner and the v&h slip on next up would be cams and tuner. They had a deal for the 255e cam and tuner installed for $995. Not sure if its a good deal or worth it. Said should add 10-20% more hp and torque. Thoughts or suggestions?

Opt for a different cam. Maybe a wood 222.

You're in Ocala.....ride over and see Doc in Minneola and talk with him. I did and I couldn't be happier. You're better off giving him your hard earned $$ than you are a dealer. it will be a nice ride none the less!!

My dealer has the same special going on right now....SE-255 cams & dyno tune for $995.

what "thedonthere" said...If you can have your bike tuned by Doc, then you are a lucky man as he is one of the best tuners in the US. I would be calling him and asking what cams to put in and make an appt. It will be the best money you ever spend on the bike and will be done right the first time

That's not a bad price. It's not a great price either though.

If ya take into account 300 for cams 300 for tuner plus gaskets and misc. Thats going to add up to close to 700. So its not too bad really. Next cheapest option is to do it yourself.

Do you actually get a tuner with that, or is it a new map download? Tuned on a dyno?
