Need help please
I have a 2012 superglide coustom I am going to put vance and hines shortshots and new air filter I was told by a friend that works at a harley dealership that instead of bring the bike in for the download just buy a vance and hines fuelpak and get the right maps and I would be good to go please let me know before I put all this money out thanks.
fuel pak just adjust fuel and loading maps is hit and miss. Are you planning anymore engine mods? How much are you wiling to spend to get your bike running 100%?
There are many options and tons of opinions. The first step is to figure how much you are willing to spend.

If you don't have any plans for further mods to your engine, I suggest a Dobeck DFO/TFI system. Much cheaper and easier to use than the Fuel Pak. Your friend is correct as far as not bringing it to the dealer for this upgrade. Waste of time and money.
Yea I definitely wouldn't do the download that is the same setup I bought my bike with seems to run ok but decel pop is bad.My short shots and A/C are going up for sale PM me if you are interested.
I have an '11 Super Glide Custom. Put the S.E. Air Cleaner on it, the V&H twin slip on mufflers, did the download and went with the S.E.R.T(Screamin Eagle Race Tuner) and love it ever since. The only thing I want now are cams and heads. Looking at the S.E. Pro CNC Heads which are factory ported with valve upgrades and Woods TW-555 cams along with a front side belt drive, keeping the back side chain drive. It might be overkill for a 96" to some but it's going to run like I want it to and that's what counts, so do what you want to make your bike run like you want it to when you're thru but if it's like mine, it's going to be a work of art that's never finished.
