Sometimes cams that ramp open and close quickly make that tinny noise. Usually the more radical a cam the more this happens. Maybe better lifters would help?

I've got the best lifters money can buy...trust me no expense was spared on this build. On paper everything is an ideal blend of form and function . Not sure that there's much I could do to change things.

are you sure it's not pinging? the higher your engine revs, the timing will adjust. You might not be hearing it at lower RPM because of the retarded timing which is advanced at higher RPMs. RPM is advanced so you get better combustion, more power and therfore on a hot build sometimes you would get pinging under the right conditions. Could you get a little less advanced timing built in to your map at the specific RPM you are hearing it and see if that changes anything?

That's next. I used Lucas in my EVO and it worked wonders. I plan on Lucas for sure. I toil with the oil though...should I use in addition to the Lucas a conventional oil or synthetic?
