Default Pcv?

OK, I'm pretty new here and this is probably a question that has been brought up before. I just purchased a Power commander V for my 2011 Super Glide. I just had the stage 1 air cleaner, vance and hines 2 into 2 big radius exhaust, and the stage 1 ecm download put on. I called Harley to see if the Power commander would have any issues since the ECM isn't on stock mode and has the stage 1 upload. The service guy told me he has had alot of guys come in with lots of problems because of the Power Commander and that it voids my warranty if I put it on. My question is, should I even bother to put it on? I talked with Dynojet last week and they helped me over the phone and uploaded the latest software and mapping into my PCV. Harley has me scared to even install the damn thing. Please post your positive and negative issues regarding the Power Commander.

Its pretty easy to uninstall if you need to take your scoot in for service, if youre that worried about it. I bet if you asked him about the screaming eagle tuner and your warranty, you'd get a much different response, typical dealer bs.

They HIGHLY recommended it a couple of weeks ago before I got my bike back from the dealership, (was in an accident), and said that with the stage 1 AC and the Vance and Hines big radius that I would need a fuel management system. They were trying to charge 550 for the screaming eagle tuner. I told them I would take it the way it was and see how the ride is. I barely have any popping at deceleration, but can feel a little loss of power on take off and low RPM's. Does anyone have any bad experiences with the PCV? I'm thinking about selling it and getting something that won't void my warranty.

I've been running the PCV with a custom map from fuel moto for a while now. My bike runs to perfection. No issues or complaints what so ever. I've got V&H Big Shots and stage 1 A/C.

Your dealer is full of ****.

Plug the PCV in and enjoy the ride....if you need to take it back to the dealer for warranty work just unplug the damn thing before you head down there.

Well I was planning on just running the PCV and its already mapped for my Stage 1 AC and Vance and Hines Big radius 2 into 2. Do i also need to install the o2 bypasses that come with it? Also, does anyone have any suggestions on an easy way to tuck that sucker under the seat? Its a damn tight fit and a pain in the *** to get it to sit flush without the seat pressing against it. I've already put it up for sale on ebay because of this, but if anyone has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Power Commander is a good product. I've ran them on several sport bikes and various BMW. The maps are good and they are easy to use.

I went the SE route on the Street Bob, but only because it is fairly cheap and I bought the extended warranty.

FWIW, the tech guys at my local dealership told me that the first thing they do when people have tuning problems is to remove the PC. I don't know if all shops have the same attitude toward the PC, but it might be something you experience if you plan to use a dealership when you have tuning issues.

Although the PC is proven, it may not be worth the struggle with dealership shops.

Yeah thats the only reason why I'm considering selling it and going with the Screamin Eagle Tuner. This motorcycle is a big investment and I wouldn't want to mess up anything with warranty issues.

I bought a PCV from FuelMoto and have had it on for over 2 years. The power difference is very noticable. I had some issues with popping on decel with the map they pre-loaded, but I e-mailed Jamie and he sent me a new map. I get better gas mileage and more power. I'm happy.

Many unscrupulous dealers will always tell you that a PC-V will "void your warranty."
Hell, lookin' at your bike sideways will "void your warranty." LOLOL..

Then again, some dealers actually sell PC-V's, believe it or not?
Truth is, that what-ever you put on your bike would have to be proven to be at fault or caused what-ever the mal-function was if there was one.

Your dealer wants to sell you "his product."
That's why he is in business, is to sell the product that he has in stock.

You are not the first person to have "upgrade concern/worry" and you won't be the last.

Personally I think that you should do what it is that you want to, and don't worry about ruffling the feathers of your dealership, and that includes putting on a PC-V.
PC-V's have been out a long time now, and you should have no problem especially w/just a stage 1.
