Thanks for the information. I would also like to know the model of Ohlins shock you have on your bike. What is the shock length and did you get standard springs or have them put heavy duty springs on the shocks when you ordered them. Looks like a remarkable improvement on cornering clearance.
The shocks are type 36PRCLB. They have shocks listed for dynas but I got OHHD143 which is 13.5 inches long (adjustable lenght) and listed for XL sportsters. It came with a gold spring which was much too soft so I got black springs to replace. I weigh 200 lb.
Does anyone have a part number for Race-Tech front kit? I see on thier site they list a sf49, But the sales lady says they don't have anything for Dyna.
on my 02fxd I used the progressive suspension 440's cause they were 1/2" over,,,then in the front I used the race tech gold emulators & springs,,,with the dual brake kit,,and yes it all works great...
You could simply install a set of shocks off of an FXDX or FXDXT....those shocks were the most expensive and best performing shocks that Harley put on any stock bike. The lenght is 13 1/2" and they have all kinds of adjustments. Check eBay.
Ohlins on rear are 3 way adjustable. Race tech gold valves in front forks eliminate front end dive. Front Brembo caliper from v-rod increases stopping power. This bike sits level with me on it. Hauls *** and rarely touch a peg..........
Dude..............I just cant make any sense of this................................LO............ ............
I have an 02 wide glide and put 1/2" longer-than-stock Progressives with their stock springs (I tried the heavy duty springs, way too stiff) and found the bike to handle better, the ride is waaaaaay better and I only drag pipes and frame occassionally now. I often wonder why others choose to go shorter. I raced for years and now I want what works best for the comfort and handling of the ride so I can put on the miles in comfort and so I can move when I get off lol---jack
