My garage is 28 x 30, 11' ceiling. insulated and rocked. I have an 8000 watt heater that'll heat it in 20 minutes. I subsidize with a 60000 btu propane torpedo when it's real cold.

I have one similar to this but it has the ignition/lighter on it like a BBQ grill:

60,000BTU forced air propane torpedo heater. Turn it on for 5 minutes in the garage and it really takes the edge off the cold. 15 minutes and I can work in a t-shirt. It also depends on how insulated your garage is of course. Just about any brand will be fine for this style and I think I paid $80 for mine on sale about 10 years ago.

I have the same one... it works great, I just point it at whichever bike I'm working on and I have to turn it off after maybe 10 minutes cause I'll start sweating.

i've got two of these, one on each side, in my 1 car garage/shop.

overnight with the door closed the temperature gets up to about 74-75.

going in and out while working on the bike it hovers around 68.

i've also got one in my 12x12 bike shed and it keeps the temp at about 70.
