Btw. The book says the stock fork oil is type E. but can't find any reference to the
Weight that is used at the factory. Guess I will just get 10wt and call it a day
I think the "E" is 5 wt., go with 10, it's easy enough to change next season.
35mm 1-3/8" 6pt socket for the caps.
I used stock height progressive springs, I don't have the part number I used.

Mike was it a big improvement over stock? Mine seems to bottom out way to easy and seems soft or soggy in the turns with the stock front springs. If this helps out alot I will end up getting a set of 412's for rear too

My bike only had about 4k miles on it when I did this, I was not experiencing any problems at the time, I was changing the oil and decided to do the springs at the same time. I don't ride hard so I wasn't trying to fix a problem. If they corrected something, I didn't compare or notice. My rear shocks are stock, do a search on the 412's before you buy.

My 03 fxdl has 4600 miles on it as we speak and I ride hard but its mostly because where I live tons of **** roads in NY. The bottoming out is usually in driveways even tho I going super slow. And alot of brake dive as well. That's why I am changing them out

Update: put the springs in today. Put new type e fork oil back in. The spacers were already setup to stick out of the fork 3/4 inch so there was no cutting required if you wanted it to stick out 3/4 inch. Took it for a quick spin around the neighborhood and it felt good alittle stiffer. But I really have to wait for the weather to get better so i can take it for a nice long ride.(snowing here). Thanks guys for your help.

Took it out today for about 3hrs. The front end feels so much better
Haven't tried it on a drive way but so far it rides great up front. Only problem
Now is that it makes my real shocks feel crappy now. I think it's time I update them
Next. Maybe to bagger air shocks that are the same length to my stock shocks(12").
Any ideas?

A lot of people put the bagger air shocks on their dyna....with the rodes your describing it might not be a good idea...when you talk about upgrading shocks it all depends on what you can afford....a quality shock is $600-$1500

When I say bottoming out I mean going into driveways not riding on the street
