Anyone out there having issues fitting speedo into this mount ? I've got the relocation bracket they sell for the 2006 up dyna & my new combination speedo/tach is too deep for the JM mount ? Problem I've got is you can't fix the back plate on as the speedo is approx. 1/4" deeper than the mount ! Contacted JM & they say they don't know of any other backing plate I can use to get over this ?? If anyone's fitted this type of mount what backing plate did you use ?
Whats the depth on your factory one? I didn't even know they made those for our scoots.What about one for a sportster? (gauge) Going to look good though.
I did think of a sportster one first off as figure there can't be much difference in the speedos, but then when JM started advertising this for our bikes I went with it ! Big mistake but I'll get it sorted one way or other, just a bit pissed off with JM response to this problem with their product !
Just to update anyone who is thinking of doing this mod that has a tank mounted speedo you will need the following 2 parts to mount the speedo in the JM ring;
Rear cushion part # 67104-95
Front cushion part # 67121-95
Have to say thanks to mick at my local dealership for searching through & finding these, just a shame I've now gotta wait for them to come in ! Thought JM might have known this at point of sale so will email them info for future customers.
