Mid Glide to Wide Glide conversion has finally begun...
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
I just finished my conversion tonight. I used the Hawg Halters C306 kit, but the axle they sent me did not lock down the spacers. I already had a stock Wide Glide axle, and when I tried it, all fit as it should. Hopefully the weather is decent enough to ride tomorrow. I haven't been on it since I installed the cams and these trees. It's been on the lift for over a month. Hope yours goes together well.

Well, since you mentioned Hawg Halters, that is who I have been waiting for my axle/spacers from. I ordered the WGCK-C408 kit, which is for 49mm 2008-up 25mm axle.
They charged my card on Jan 2nd and have waved me off 2 times now. Everytime I call they have no answer or explanation for the delay. Now they are saying Feb 11 ship date. Could you tell me how long it took for them to ship you your conversion kit?
All I know is the axle better damn fit for this waiting they are making me do. I tried to make it easy for myself and spend the money and buy an all inclusive kit but I should have just bought a wide glide axle and measured/cut my own spacers.
Sorry for the rant but I thought they were a reputable company, and maybe they are, but they are shitting on my order.

I ordered the kit January 8th, it arrived February 1st. I called them after two weeks and talked to Beth. She said they did not have it in stock and had to make it. I was pretty disappointed when the axle they sent did not fit, especially since I told them I did not need an axle because I had one from a Wide Glide. It seems like the cut of the threaded side of their axle is too short, and when you torque it down, it is only tight between the axle and the fork. Both spacers and the wheel were loose. You could rotate both spacers with two fingers, and could slop the wheel from side to side as much as the brake disk would allow within the rotor. Bad juju. Make sure you check yours before you ride it. With the Wide Glide axle all fit correctly, and I had it up to 85 today. Rides the same as it did with the mid trees, steady as a rock. Good luck, and let me know if I can help out with any questions.
Crappy cell phone picture, but this is mine:
The wheel is dead center, but looks skewed to one side in this photo.

Well isn't that a bitch... I paid for mine on Jan 2nd and it still has not showed up but you order the week after me and already got yours and its virtually the same product. It's a shame too because I was looking to possibly buy their 6piston front caliper but I will not do business with them in the future. I will go with PM calipers instead.
Are you returning their axle for a partial refund or something? Did you notify them that their axle does not work? I am curious how they handle that!
Regardless, I am ordering a stock Wide Glide axle from Surdyke right now and I should have that before Hawg Halters even bothers to send me my stuff.
Did the spacers in the kit, particularly the brake rotor spacer, get everything lined up properly?
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it! Bike looks good too! Yeah, I can see that its lined up properly and it just looks like its not because the rotor and caliper make it looks like there is too much space on the other side of the wheel.
looks good, blubob! it's just your brake rotor and caliper making things look off center. what size wheel is that up front?
jmeiers man that sucks but you're making me happier than a pig in **** i decided not to shell out the money for the HHI kit.
i'm gonna swap my trees over then take the front end off the bike and bring it to my buddy who's an engineer and machinist and have him fab up spacers. seems to be the most hassle free way to do it.
Looks good so far. You could always do the fork gaiters and film on the upper tubes to black it out. I'm not a fan of the gaiters, but you seem to like black a lot.

The kit was on my doorstep Friday night. By the time I knew what was up they were closed. I will call them Monday

Having the stock WG axle is what saved me. I would hope you don't need it, but if you do, then they are definitely off on what parts go with what kits.

The rotor spacer and the axle spacers lined the wheel up properly. The fender spacers did the same, but they are easier, because of the symmetry.
Please let me know how your kit works out. I fully expect the run around from these guys. $180 for a kit, and all I used was $25 worth of round spacers and the rotor spacer, which most places sell for $25-$50. They have been good on the phone, but we will see if they back their stuff or not. I don't want to say anything against them without talking to them first. Good luck!

Thats the Jireh 21x3.25 laced to my stock hub. I have a Metz 120/70/21 on it.
I have the measurements for those spacers. If you PM me an email address I can send you a powerpoint pres with sketches of everything. I started with Tatu's cone shaped sketches, and I think spacers like that would look much better than the simple cylinder ones. I also measured the spacers in the kit I received, and they are within a thou or two (have to look) of the sketches. I just didn't have time to get them made, and could not get Motorway engineering to respond to my emails after three months. Said F it, cause I need the bike to ride to work.
