I plan on changing to synthetic at the 1000 service.

last fall I put Amsoil motorcycle oil in all three holes after 1,000 miles. Boy said that it sounded shitty. changed the tranny to Amsoil 75-140 i I remember correctly the case marking. More smoother now thinking maybe I should also put the amsoil 75w-140 gear oil in the other hole to quiet it up. definitely keep the amsoil motorcycle oil in the motor. I think each bike is different so see what yours like.

I switched over at 50 miles, thats when I changed everything over to synthetic. Ran Lucas then switched to Amsoil. The bike ran better for me with Lucas and have been using it ever since. Im running Lucas gear fluid in the tranny, I wanna say its 75w90.

I did first oil change at ~50 miles with stock oil and then I switched to synthetic at about ~500 miles. No issues here either.

Engine = Mobil 1 20w-50 VTwin
Tranny = Mobil 1 75w-90 Gear Lube
Primary = Mobil 1 10w-40 MX4T

Easily available and reasonably priced at Advanced Auto or Vato Zone. Do whatever helps you to sleep better at night.

Changed to Syn3 at the 1,000 break in service, now I'm having the 5,000 service done as we speak (& also cams & dyno at same time), and I am switching to Amsoil in all 3 holes.

There are many good choices for lubricants...Amsoil, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Redline, Belray, just to name a few, and the HD Syn3 is good oil IMO also. Any of these will suit you fine.
