Default handlebars

anyone have any good links for replacing handlebars on wide glides so you do not have to cut the wires? Or advice?

No links, but I putHeritage bars on my Dyna and didn't have to cut anything.

I checked the switches at the grips for the buttons and they are all part of the switch and cannot come off. The other end of the harness goes up into the frame tube and appears to fun on down to somewhere around the battery or so. Is there a plug up in the frame?

Yeah, its a hd number. Its the controls and wire, but you have to crimp ends on to the wire. Not a big deal. What bars are you going to? I'm putting apes on the bob and bought a novello kit from JP. Around $50. A little more work involved with novello kit though. You have to pull wires out of connector, put in wire kit and then put connector back on. Shouldn't be a huge deal though.

Yeah, you slide tank back (take of quick connect fuel line on left side of bike), then you pull grommet out of frame at front of bike, for additional wire you can remove plug in front of rear wheel. Someone pulls at front and someone pushes from back. Then the deutsch connectors will come out the front of the bike out of the backbone. I haven't done it yet, but have done hours of reading to make sure I have the process down. I also have service manual for a little added comfort!

There is a plug for the wires under the tank. Unplug it and take the plug apart...Search ad you should find something on here. Oh, the other thing is youcan jsut slide the tank back, you don't have to take it off...

When I got the bike it had drag bars that look like slammers, 1 1/4". I want to go back to the stock bars 1". The brake cable is braided so it should reach. The other cables seem long enough and theres alot of extra wire stuffed in the frame. The tank is off and the frame tubing seems solid all the way back to the battery. I pulled the front rubber plug and the harness's run right past that. So theres a plug maybe in the frame?
