I have searched this and havent really found what I was looking for. I was thinking of putting on a set ofH-D 06 Lowrider shocks onto my 06 Superglide, since I found a set thatare practically newand are just $50. I am courious as to if I can do this and the bike still handle and track great like it does now. I remember reading that if you lower the rear that you should also lower the front or that it would negatively affect the bikes handling. Basically,... I just wanna give the bike a lil lowered look in the rear with any negative handling.
I've heard that also, but lowered the back end of my '04 2 years ago w/o doing the front and have had no problems at all. The rear shocks went from 12.5" stock to 11.5", no scraping no bottoming out. I would think for $50.00 you really can't go wrong. Put the lower shocks on and if you don't like them, all you're out is $50.00, not a bad deal.
I have 11" Progressives on my 06 and It handles Better than the stock 12"Shocks, Idle to 90 mph. I'm leaving the front alone except the wide glide trees and 21" Wheel & tire I'll be putting on later next week and I'll go from there depending on the differance in rake.
I agree with DGLIDE04. I had done this with my "04 FXD for my wife to start riding. I had found a set of Lowrider front springs and jiffy stand that was on sale. Everything is just great.
