i agree. the plant in K.C. does there contract this summer.i dont know if it will go smooth. or be where they are at in new york . so that might affect on the 2008's. by summer there could be a shortage of all bikes .if you dont have the parts to put them together. you are s.o.l.being the motor and drive train comes from there.
The word I hear is that the Motor Company is getting rid of throttle cables and going with an electronic throttle. Also with 08 being the 105th anniversary, you know a couple of special bikes or models will be introduced.
If you wait that long you will haveto get an 08. As hot as that bike is all of the 07 models will be gone by then.
Yup. It was hard for me to find an 07 SB Vivid Black, in my area. Earlier this year there was a flood of them, but when I went to buy one, there weren't any left. It's a hot bike. I was able to locate one at a semi-local dealer. I didn't want to wait for the 08's. That would have killed most of my riding season, plus it would've ended up costing more money...... Double whammy.
There's always a new model in a few months. If you keep waiting for the newest one, you'll never buy a bike.
I would guess that the 6-speed is here to stay. For good. No reason to ever go back to a 5 and I highly doubt we'll ever see a 7.
My guess is that eventually we'll get right-side drive on Harleys. Probably Fat Boys first. The weight distribution on a RSD is amazing. I've sat on a few choppers with RSDs and they practically stand upright without putting your feet down.
considering the time of year, I'd at least wait and see what '08 brings. Even without any major changes to the drivetrain or model line up... being that '07 brought a lot of change and a fair number of issues, I would expect the drivetrain on the '08 to have all the "issues" worked out.
