I am thinking of purchasing a 2007 Street Bob this summer, sometime around June. I am considering waiting for the 2008 models to come out in August though. Does anyone know what kind of changes Harley usually makes to there bikes, and what kind of change can I expect to see from a 07 model to a 08 model. Do you think it will be worth the wait to pass up half of the summer for? Anyways let me know what you think. Thanks.
I wouldn't expect too much diference between '07 and '08, since the Dyna line has had a complete makeover between '06 and '07. But, no one will know what '08 has in storeuntil the dealer show this summer.
HD always makes minor changes every year (cosmetic changes, a few new models). The 96 and the 6 speedare here to stay for 3-5 years most likely. You may want to look for a discounted leftover2007 once the 08 are released.

3-5 years, is going to be about 6-8
Evo made it 15 years
they may not make any changes due to the strike. Hell they may not be any 08's if things keep going on the way they are.
From The Washington Times 2/10.07
"Harley-davidson says the strike at its largest assembly plant will cause it to miss a first quarter target of 84,000 motorcycles. As a result of the strike, the company says it has reduced productions of engines, transmissions, and the components. First quarter shipments likely be at least 5,500 short because of the strike."
Find a scooter you like and get it! Waiting? There will always be a new one coming out around the corner......any bike you get will be an older model eventually......I have a '05, and I am not down about it at all.....
Don't wait, just get the bike that fits you and you like. If you live in the north you would miss almost 1/2 a riding season by the time the new 08's come out.

Like said before, since HD made a major change (engine) in '07, I would suspect that the only difference will be some color changes. SO, if you see one you like, get it. Oh yeah the other change will be that the price will go up for '08. Whatever you decide though, DO NOT get a black denim bike. It is a horrible color that is REALLY hard to maintain... .
Like everyone is saying.. with the BIG roll-out in 07, look for minor changes. Not worth the wait for an 08. Get it now and get her right before you ride. You know you'll want pipes and a few other goodies.
