Well I don't really like the look, but it is functional. Tried it out on my commute (10 miles of HOV highway at 75-80mph) and helps with the air flow. I wear a full face helmet, and the fairing keeps the air from hitting my chest- the wind is now at shoulder/helmet level so I don't have to death grab the grips to stay on the bike at 80mph in a headwind.
Man, I know that you have just worked on your new mod and I never like to tear folks down. However, you are looking for some honest feedback. The look of the fairing disrupts the overall line and look of the bike. I like your paint job and would like if the fairing somehow interacted with it a bit rather than looking like a disconnected add on. The fact that it does not sit flush with the light has been mentioned and is an important point. I also question the functionality of the fairing over the former windshield.
I could see it coming together with some more work, but at this point it just looks a bit awkward. Any chance you will paint it to match the bike? I have seen these on some "club" bikes and like the fit and finish. Best of luck. I love your bike overall (paint, bags, pipes, etc).
I am not going anywhere near the club bike look. I don't get them myself but to each his own...I am going to move the light and see how it looks. I like it better than a windshield and it is pretty functional...I plan to keep it black though...the flames on my bike are going away as soon as I find a decently priced black tank...I got the bike for cheaper than a black one because of them...I know that's not how it supposed to work
