Are the bagger caliper bolts different at all? Or are those the ones you're using? I swapped all of my rotor hardware to black button heads from the stock torx ones. The new bolts were quite a bit thinner than those as well. I was using floating rotors though with recesses not those bagger ones. Also lemme ask a dumb question... there's not actually a recess for the bolts on the flip side of those rotors is there? Like maybe they could have been installed wrong?
When you say the bagger caliper bolts are you referring to the two mounting bolts? If you are the bolts are slightly different. The bottom mounting bolts are the correct size. The top mounting bolt is too long, so I simply bought another bottom bolt to mount the Brembos.
And no there's no recess on the other side haha.
So where did you get those black rotor bolts from? Maybe those would give me the room I need.
If you want to do it correct, need to take a hard look at what you us. Harley's fastener appears to be button head but are really not what you are going to see in a button head bolt. If you go to Northern.com you will see button head bolts don not come in a graded bolts for a true fastener like the caliper bolt should be. Note the little raised markings. Think is a grade 5 class fastener off my head.
**** sorry didn't mean caliper bolts, meant rotor bolts. Doh. Anyways my local hardware place had em in grades 2-8. I used 8's and I just saw the same bolts at an Ace Hardware store last weekend. So they're readily available.
Tried to sell my rotors here in the classified section but wasn't getting a lot of interest. So I decided to take my rotors to the machine shop instead. Got them back today and put the wheel back on this afternoon. And I'm happy to say my wheel spins again!!
DanDMan's measurements were spot on.
Not gonna be able to take it for a test ride for a couple weeks most likely but I'll be sure to update this thread as time goes on and I get some miles on these rotors.
