FXDL Tank Options
Have been looking at options to replace the stock tank on my 07fxdl. While doing a net search it's a bit hard to find a vendor that sells new unpainted tanks for this model and it's a bit confusing what tanks will fit. I've heard fat bob tanks will fit but will need to switch out console.
Any suggestions on tanks and possible providers?

Pretty much any of the same year ('06-later) tanks will fit ....
There are a couple of tank tops, though ... the difference is the tank top cover ...
One has rounded corners, and the other has squared tops ...
There are two main consoles ... one that has the 5" speedometer and one that uses the 4" speedo ... the rounded one goes with the 4" speedo ... the squared one goes with the 5" speedo ... to my knowledge ...
It can get costly going from one to the other, because if you get the one you did not start out with you need to buy the tank cover, the new dash and speedo ...
It can be done, just realize it will involve a lot of additional steps (parts) ...

FXDL and FXDB used the same tank, FXDWG and FXDC used a different tank, and FXD has it's own tank. you can use the 06 or 07 tanks. I think HD changed something after 07 but not sure what or which year. You can find good deals on ebay or craigs if you're patient. I've seen NOS tanks under $300 on ebay.
