I want to switch out stock Fat Bob finder with Chopped Rear Fender Kit
product # 59860-10BEO. Which fits '06-'11 Dyna® models (except my FXDFSE/2). If I change to Wide Glide struts, can anyone who has made the Fat Glide swap tell me why the chopped fender want fit?
I made the swap but used a stock wide glide fender. If I'm not mistaken the kit you're looking at is actually the street bob fender. I'm pretty sure its too narrow for the struts on the fat bob. On a side note. The wide glide fender bolts right on. I'm no mechanic by any means and I was able to do it all myself.

I did the swap too. Fender bolts up with a few spacers, but that's not the whole story.
You need to deal with what you'll do about the brake light, turn signal wires and license plate light. You lose the stock tail light and the FXDF fender has everything connected to a circuit board under the tail light and a wiring conduit under the fender that you lose too. A little rework and more parts are needed.
You need to do an under the fender or side license plate mount
You can no longer use your FXDF strut covers. The FXDWG ones fit (I hear) but are only available in black, not chrome, if that matters
Also, if you use the stock turn signals, the stock standoffs wont fit right without the strut covers
There are several threads that go into this mod in detail.

Greetings gang. I'm assembling a pile of mods, and the Wide Glide fender is one of them.
I just left Ft Myers' Harley here in FL., and they gave me part numbers 59281-08 and 59410-08 for the left and right hand CHROME strut covers that they *say* will work with this mod.
Could anyone confirm this fit? I think these strut covers go back to an 08 SE.
BTW, if they will fit, New Castle Harley Davidson online has these chromed covers for $85!
Sorry for the lack of my profile and pics. I will work on it.
