Default Dyna Low/Softail Standard

Well I took another look at bikes this weekend. I was leaning toward the sportser. then I sat on the dyna low rider. I really want to keep the bike for a long time without trading it in. I am height challenged as I have said before so seems these 2 bikes might be a better fit though of course they are more money. Can anyone give me a bit of advice on those bikes and if It will make a huge difference than the 1200 sportster. Oh and I currently do ride a 600 bandit so I am definitely looking to step up.

Thanks

Darren

I've got a Low Rider and I love it. I can't compare with a Sporty but you will be happy you spent the xtra bucks. I'm moving on to a Road Glide maily because my wife wants comfort for the long haul. If it were just me, heck I'd keep the LR as it is a great as a daily rider and for one up touring. $0.02

I hear you there. Do you know anything about about the softail standard. I was just trying to see how much of a difference riding long distance makes with the different handlebars they have..

The Lowrider has a better handling and riding package than the Softail does, especially two up. If I was going to travel much, I would definately go with the Lowrider.

Don't let the handlebars be a deciding factor, that is one of the cheapest and easiest things to change on a bike.

Regards,

Bill

I traded my old Sporty for a Standard last Thanksgiving and love the Standard. I've ridden it 10,500 miles so its been through the paces. We don't ride two up so I can't tell you about that. One of the reasons I got it was the handlebars. Stock, they give me a comfortable riding position. If you aren't queer for chrome, the Standard is one of the better values. But if you start adding a bunch of chrome doodads, you can sink a lot of money into it.

Dyna's are great bikes as well. Either way, you can't go wrong. Since you are vertically challenged, you might also look at the Deluxe as it sits lower than some of the other bikes.

Thanks for the advice. I will certainly take a good look at all 3 bikes now. I might rent the bikes first for a day and see how each of them feels.
