Default Dyna vs. Softail Duece

Very new and trying to make up my mind on Dyna vs. Softail Duece. Will be one of the two though. Also, new vs. used. Seem to be some very good deals out there on used. What do y'all think???

Thanks,
JCH

Used. Rent a dyna and a deuce if you can. Otherwise, flip a coin. They are both good bikes. I don't think you would be unhappy with either bike.

Depends on what you have now. I just got a Dyna Low Rider because I didn't like the forward placement of the controls on the Soft Tails. I'm coming off a Buell XB12S, that has a decisively sporting ridding position. I like the greater control I have with the mid sets. The Low Rider had a lot of chrome already on it. You would have to see how much you save with a used one. Get total drive out price on each. I paid just over 19k for the Low Rider (I added $800 worth of accessories.) Good luck

Late used, some good deals out there, I sold my dyna and bought a softail , for me I thought the dyna was more nimble but I like the traditional lines of the softail.

2004 and 2005 Superglides are all over the place for sale with less than 3,000 miles for under 10K.

Best bang for the buck.....IMHO

Best DYNA? Wideglide. Softtails have the counterbalanced Twin Cam Motor, unless you go get an Evolution motored bike...

Get the Dyna. Touring style frame and suspension, and the price on a low mileage used one is nice. A warning about the deuce, around here, a deuce is like herpes, once you get one, you better love it, 'cause you aint gettin' rid of it. That is one of the coldest bikes around my part of the world. They are just too much of nothing special. I mean, it's a soft tail, that looks like a dyna. Why would you want that goofy ride, on something that looks like a Dyna?

I agree with the above. I would buy anything before the "Deuce". Other than that, I much prefer the classic lines of the Softail over the Dyna.

I failed to add: I would definetly buy used. There are just too many recent vintage, low mileage bikes out there not to take advantage of it. Check on ebay. That's where I found my 05. My previous 5 bikes I bought were new because I wasn't yet hooked up with a computer. Now that I have joined the 21st century, and have access to the internet, I doubt I will ever buy new again (bike or car).
