Default CHANGEING COVERS

How hard is it to change the cam cover and trans covers on a 2006 Dyna Super GLide?

not hard at all, just drain the oil, remove the bolts, and take the covers off.

I just changed out my cam cover, side transmission cover, outter primary and installed the chrome engine transmission interface cover. Basically,... I just drained all of my fluids. Be sure and buy new gaskets, no need on taking a chance at having a leak. I had to remove my cpmplete exhaust system to do my mods. The cam cover is very simple, just remove the old one and install new gasket and a torque wrench in inch lbs will be nice to have for that as well. I got one at harbor freight pretty cheap along with a set of extended reach allen sockets. The side tranny cover is not really difficult,... just pay close attention to the orientation of the snap ring and install it the same way into the new cover. You will need to remove your cluch cable and reattach it like the old one. Just be patient because that snap ring is pretty stiff, but overall its no too difficult. The directions are pretty straight forward so you shouldnt have any problems. ALSO,.... be sure to alternate the torque sequence on the bolts when you reinstall the new covers. If you have a shop manuel it will explain this in detail and will give the suggested torque.
