It's all in the tune baby. People spend thousands in engine mods and then skimp on the tune....doesn't make sense to me

We always want more, don't we? I was thinking to do a 107 and some head works but now I am happy with the cams alone, might change my mind.
Did you bump the compression?

Each bike is different. you will get different results with each bike even if they are the same.
I have had engines out perform what it should, who really knows why.
I also agree that it may be the tune.
When I had my 07 96 inch ultra I changed cams to SE255 and used the PCV with AT, I could hang with 103's all day long. It would even put it up to 120mph.

I already know the TW555 cams work best with higher compression like 107 and headwork, it's all money talk. I am planning on doing 107 in the future, that's why I picked these cams. The power starts at 2800rpm all the way up to 6000rpm strong. For as little as cams, air cleaner and exhaust, I can't ask for more. All I need for now

Yep. Same story. I never bumped the comp. Now Im doing the crank and 107. Its the perfect cam for a modular build schedule. Cant wait to see what 107 has to offer.

some motors seem to breakin better than others depending on how they are run the first 500 miles, rings seat better and the bore is smoother, then some combinations just seem to work a little better the fit is better no gaps the edges are smooth if you happen to get lucky and all the parts are machined top notch, it can give you a little edge and make a difference, not as much on the newer stuff, but the older parts had to be cleaned up all the time, debured, polished.to get a good fit

Some good thoughts guys, thanks. I'm still hesitant on getting cammed if its not too noticeable... I guess there is a right and wrong cam for each application.. More research to do I suppose...

I like the 96 alot if I were to build another fxr it would be a twinkie 96 with high comp and good cam. My dads when it was a 96 we did a PC3, V&H shortshots, ness big sucker, zippers redshift .575s and 5 angle valve job with the ports opened up left the valve size stock and it pulled 93/94. It was a hoss.

:icon_cr ackup: . My dealer says the Red powerbabnds are on backorder because they are using them in all the new water cooled showerhead engines.
