Well I'm out of town working and I've been ordering parts for my 2012 wide glide. I ordered a black drag bar to use with my stock risers. Ordered the bars from j&p cycles and it stated in the description they were an exact fit.
I know it said they were a 1" in diameter bar but I assumed the center must be 1 1/4" to fit in the stock risers. Well they were delivered to my house yesterday and the wife opened up the box for me. Their an 1" in diameter across the whole bar. EXACT FIT MY A$$!!!!!!
Does anyone have some suggestions? Should I return them or is there a way to making these work? Guessing I'm going to have to buy new risers if so right?
Um, if they are not exact fit, then send them back. Not too hard to figure out. Certainly doesn't sound like what your after. I am sure someone makes the fat drag bar.
OR
Send your stock one to PowderCoat Joe in Chicago and have him coat yours. Just a thought.
Talk to KST Kustoms, they are in Georgia. I believe they can make the bars you need. Their quality looks to be spot on and they can do the bars in gloss or satin black.
measure the OD of your existing bar,,where it clamps. then order that size of bar......most if not all bars neck down to 1 inch at the ends for grips and control mounting.......when you shop bars the size of the bar refers to the clamp size....which in your case is probably 1 1/4 or 1 1/2......return the bars for the correct ones.....could be that you ordered the right bar and they just sent you the wrong one....happens

@ SuperglideKen-.
I did just that. Just got off the phone with Harley and spent the extra money on the fat drag satin black. Going to send these bars back and get my refund.
Now I'm searching for some aftermarket grips. Can anyone advise me as to where I could look to find some grips and what special notes as to the fitment. of coarse I need a 1 1/4'" but what about the throttle grip?
Thanks for the advise and help from you all!!!!

The bars are standard size on the the grip ends. Nothing special needed. Any Harley grip will work...
I'm not sure I'm going to go with the Harley grips! Only because there's not a big selection but I am going to keep it American made if you know what I mean!!!
