Default Modifying a stock bar clamp

Does any one know if you can grind out your stock bar clamp to accept the 1 1/4" fat bars?
I ordered a set of beach bars that were made to fit the stock 1" clamp how ever when I got the bars in they were a full 1 1/4". Now I could just send them back but I have taken my bike apart ready to install the new bars and cut my old bars "long story". I have a ride this weekend for the Rilly childerns hospital and cant wait for a week to get another set and didnt want to pay for a new set of bar clamps. Any one out there ever done this???

Seems like it could effect the structural integrity of the clamp by grinding it out. Don't think I'd try it.

Depending on which risers you have, it can be done, but you had better have a good drill press or mill and good 1-1/4" bit and reamer. Personally i would just buy new risers, you would be better off.

Any machine shop worth their weight can do it... It shouldnt effect structural integrity its only.125 inch off each side of the clamp.

Yes, they should be able to, but I would almost bet it would cost more than a new riser.

Isn't there a shop around where you can buy some risers and clamp for the 1 1/4 bars? That way you have the 1" if you ever want to go back.
