1/4 mile time second attempt after cam improvement
I did a 1/4 mile run last summer right after the Dakota gauge installed, it was 14.5s on my stock 96 motor, air cleaner and exhaust. Read my thread here
I did another run this afternoon, 13.3s speed at 100mph easy launch, TW-555 cams and PV(Fuelmoto map) are added. My SB has so much power now, the hardest part is holding the tall ape hanger and keeping my feet on the forward control at the same time. If my feet didn't slip off, I might be able to touch 13.0s, freak me out no kiddn' I am impressed!
Alex, Once I am finished with all of the mods I am doing and get my Dakota set back up again, I am going to have to give it a shot. Way to go, I knew that old blue Bob had it in it. Makes a difference with a good tune! Can't wait until that Bob of yours hits a dyno.
Nope, I am not dreaming or BS here, no matter how hard I try, it was 14.5s at first.
I forgot to mention 2 things, I have added a 30T pulley and SE heavy clutch. The pulley does help a bit off the line no doubt, I strongly believe the clutch spring plays a major role. I had noticeable slippage before I installed the heavy clutch spring. I can feel the clutch slips every gear change, don't you think it can possibly slow down 1/4 mile time? I don't know.
BTW, what's your opinion on 1/4 mile time? What is it supposed to be? I am just curious.
