I now have the Michelin commander IIs and wish I had my Night Dragons back. The michelins don't have the grip in my opinion, but I ride pretty aggressively through the twisties.
So have the current tires broken away while you were riding on them?
I run Commander 2s and have no issue with wet or dry traction. On a long run, I don't stop. I trust the michelin's traction on the interstate at highway speeds and rain and wet pavement. I'm not crazy enough to take twisties on wet pavement.
Even on my old Suzuki GSX I didn't push the curves with wet pavement no matter what rubber it was wearing.
I bought the Michelins for their high mileage properties, but have been totally happy with their performance.
You need to determine what kind of riding you do and what your skill level is. Then choose a tire with the properties that fit your riding style. How often are you scraping parts at 50mph and above?
