Got my Corbin seat in. I ordered a Classic Solo with passenger pillion. When I went to install the front seat, I noticed that on my 2012 Super Glide, there is no thread in the hole on the fender where a solo seat is mounted---there is only a black, decorative snap cover over the hole. I need to get hold of one of a the threaded insert plugs.
Anyone know the part for this or where I can find one? No plug came with the Corbin hardware. According to the instructions, it seems like one should already be there on the fender. But there is just the hole.
should be the same as the softail. Trick when installing them- use 550 cord (or similar) and feed it down through the hole, put the nut insert (clip recess facing up) on the cord, tie a knot to prevent it coming off, and pull the insert up into position and install the clip. cut off 550 cord, and enjoy.
