Default Loud pipes

This is my first post, also my first harley I have a 08 dyna Low Rider
and couldn't be happier. My only issue with the bike is the sound,
With stock pipes the loud rumble just isn't loud enough,I was told that if I had the ends of slipons cut off at the fat end of the cone and the baffles removed this would provide the sound I'm lookin for and it would also increase performance. Other than spending the money on some Screaming Eagle slip-ons, is this a good idea?

I am not a big fan of slip-ons but don't buy new if you go that way, you could pick some up here or Ebay for cheap and like new.

Don't cut the pipe, drill down the middle of the muffler. There's a YouTube video or ten about it.

Slip-ons or drag pipes would be better though.

Be warned, drag pipes can be very loud.

there are many, many videos on youtube of nearly every type of muffler and modification you can think of. check them out. remember you do need some back pressure in the exhaust to get the best performance.

The guy who previously owned my bike took out the stock baffles and replaced them with Big City Thunder Monster baffles. They have a nice growl, loud without being too obnoxious.

Since no one has mentioned it yet - drag pipes will hurt your power. Go with a decent aftermarket set or, as someone said earlier just drill the stock pipes out a bit.

I have a set of short shots and they are alot more quiet than I expected. I plan on going with Big City Thunder baffles. Wish I would have gotten them right away. Would have made installing them easier the first time around.
