For power I did the Baker OD6 transmission, it is rated for 165 hp constant. closer ratio, with lowered gearing in the first few gears.
what are you wanting to do with the primary?
you need a bit more info, what kind of HP numbers are you pushing i have rebuilt both my prmary and trans in my bike upgrding bearings and dogs. what are you looking to accomplish so that we know where to direct you. Baker is tough to beat on trans front
ok so right now it just has a hacker exhaust, air intake, and the plug in from harley. eventually i might turn it into a built 103 or a built 107 (star racing). but currently its almost stock. ive just been having to many issues breaking transmission parts and stuff in the primary. i just want something that wont break on me lol. the speed and range that its working with right now is fine for me
what have you broke? i know guys that are pushing well over 150hp on stock primary and trans without any issues... i did bend a dog and blow out a bearing in mine but that is really rare... once you upgrade your IPB bearing in the primary your golden... you have to get into the 200 hp range before you need to worry about the trans and primary, upgrade the crank and clutch before you worry about breaking into the tranny,

If I just had to have somethin better I would get a Baker 6 speed. I would never get rid of the Harley Primary for a aftermarket setup. Maybe just a nicer clutch and a upgraded IPB bearing.

im not all that sure the actual names cuz im more used to workin on cars to b honest. but i broke the clutch pressure plate, something that had to do with my shift linkage, and most recently i broke sum pulley in there. its all warrantied but once the warranty is gone i wanna replace it
You must be hard on one.
We have a 10 wide glide SS106 with head work, cams and ss clutch springs with stock 6 speed and primary and I have no problems. I take it to the track at times.
A stock 103 don't stand a chance.
