Wondering what the general opinion is here. Looking to get the most performance out of a set of pipes...what should I get?
You'll get lots of opinions on what everybody likes best, but as long as you stay with a good 2-1 pipe (VH ProPipe, Thunderheader, Supertrapp, D&D FatCat, and several others) you'll get good performance. The only way to know which will perform best on your bike is to buy them all and dyno test them. Probably not real practical. The second best option is probably the Supertrapp, because of the tuneability factor. Personally, my bike has a FatCat.
I'm thinking SuperMegs but not a fan of how the ends look, not that the pipe looks terrible, but I don't wanna walk up to my bike everyday and be like yeah this looks great but...will the end caps for the slip on mufflers for the SuperMegs fit if you get the full system? I assume they would, but when you assume...

Unfortunately, no those tips only fit the slip-ons and Kerker 2-1 system, which is the non-tunable version of the Supermeg. But here's what my Supermeg looks like with the black open end cap. I think it looks pretty good, not that I really care what the end of the pipe looks like.
Gotcha... well I think I'm gonna go with Chrome Thunderheaders. For the price, performance, and aesthetics, I really like them the best. Thanks for all the input guys!
LMAO! I doubt you ever had a thunderheader because there's no need to have it over 4,000 rpm to get power out of it! Some of you guy's really make me laugh!
I second that!!! my bike at 10 mph rolling will brake the tire loose and lift the wheel in second gear shift. and sounds good doing it.
I have the Kerker SuperMeg. Sames as the SuperTrapp SuperMeg just without any discs. The Kerker has a real low rumble and has great performance. Either Supermeg will flow well and are awesome on stock motors and even get better with any motor work that increases flow like cams, head, ....etc.
Over 40 years of winning races should say enough of SuperTrapp's performance.

i ran the thunderheader for over a year and it was the worst pipe ive had, just my opinion on it. there are better pipes out there for all around power but what do i know, i only ride every day and have tried multiple exhaust setups.
